Mission Detail Page

What This Page Does

Shows a role-aware Mission workspace. Program Leaders and Program Staff get an operations-first command view with roster, signup, operations, logistics, photo, message, incident, and escalation actions. Volunteers get a signup-first view with shift selection, requirements, program access, directions, team or family participation, photo upload status, and their own registration state.

How To Use This Page

  1. Open the Mission detail page.
  2. Start with the command summary to review registration, staffing or eligibility, next shift, requirement blockers, and the recommended next action.
  3. Use the role-aware tabs to move between Overview, Roster & Signups or Shifts, the highlighted Mission day-of operations tab, Logistics, Photos, Requirements, and Details depending on your permissions.
  4. For Program Leaders and Program Staff, use Roster & Signups for capacity and volunteer shift state, the highlighted Mission day-of operations tab for roster decisions, walk-ins, check-in/out, kiosk links, no-shows, exports, and Mission-scoped incident handling, Logistics for resources and staging, Photos for submission status, and Details for volunteer-facing context.
  5. For Volunteers, use Overview to confirm whether you can act now, Shifts to sign up, join the waitlist, cancel, or withdraw, Requirements to resolve program access, waivers, documents, training, background checks, certifications, group-only rules, and family or team participation, Details for preparation instructions, and Photos for upload status.
  6. Use the Primary Actions rail for edit, Mission Logistics, Activity Log, Message Volunteers, Report Safety Issue, Escalate Mission, Join First Available, Share Mission, and Manage Team Response when those actions are available to your role.
  7. During an active signed-up shift, upload Mission Photos for staff review.
  8. Use Programs > GoodNearby Site > Media Library to review, edit, publish, unpublish, or reject submitted Mission Photos before they appear on the GoodNearby public page and to other volunteers.
  9. Check whether registration has not opened yet, is already closed, or has a cancellation deadline before assuming a volunteer can still act on a shift.
  10. If the Mission is assigned to a specific group or subgroup, confirm the volunteer belongs to that group before expecting signup to unlock.
  11. If staff reserved group spots, use the community leader workspace to manage that allocation before troubleshooting shift capacity.
  12. When sending Mission SMS, preview estimated recipients, segments, billing treatment, and customer charge before sending.
  13. Use team response or guardian consent actions only when the Mission explicitly enables group/team or family/minor participation.
  14. Use Report Safety Issue when a signed-up volunteer or staff member needs to document a safety incident tied to the Mission.
  15. Use Escalate Mission when Program Staff need a Program Leader or Organization Leader decision tied to this Mission.
  16. Confirm roster actions, logistics records, submitted incidents, photo submissions, or escalations route to the follow-up workflow.
