Events and Missions Calendar Page

What This Page Does

Combines event planning and Mission shift review into one operational calendar scoped by the global program selector, with add-Event, add-Mission, filters, right-side detail preview, multi-date Event scheduling, open-ended Mission registration windows, Event qualification requirements, image-capable Event descriptions, public or private Event audience settings, direct volunteer assignment and batch hour logging for Events and Mission shifts, a Future Calendar Items table for current and upcoming records, and focused record workflows. The old Events route redirects here.

How To Use This Page

  1. Open Calendar.
  2. Choose the working program from the global program selector; Calendar only shows Events and Missions tied to that program.
  3. Use Quick Create > New Event to open Calendar with the Event setup form ready when a Program is selected.
  4. Use Add Event to open the Create Event modal, or use Add Mission to go directly to the Mission builder.
  5. Events are tied to the selected program, matching Mission program scope.
  6. In Location, type a street address or venue name and choose an address suggestion so the saved Event location includes the building number, city, state, and ZIP when the lookup provider returns them.
  7. Set the Event audience to Public or Private to approved program volunteers before saving.
  8. Add Event description text, links, and embedded image URLs when the Event needs maps, flyers, diagrams, or visual instructions.
  9. Add one or more Event dates and time ranges when an Event spans multiple sessions; one RSVP covers every listed date and time.
  10. Open-ended Missions appear from their registration opens date through their registration closes date, while scheduled Missions appear by shift time.
  11. Add required Event qualifications from the same Qualifications list used by Missions when attendance depends on a verified credential or course.
  12. Use All, Events, Missions, Understaffed, Draft, or Scheduled filters to focus the calendar.
  13. Use the month, week, or agenda calendar to inspect scheduled Events, scheduled Mission shifts, and open-ended Mission registration windows together; Mission items include a small fill indicator that combines capacity across that Mission's shifts.
  14. When a calendar day shows a +more label, select it to expand and show the hidden day items, then select it again to collapse the extra items.
  15. Search or select an Event or Mission from the calendar or Future Calendar Items table to open the right-side detail preview first.
  16. Use the Event preview to review RSVP and check-in controls, assign approved program volunteers, log hours for multiple attendees, attendance summary, qualifications, description images, and calendar links before opening the full Event setup form.
  17. Use the Mission preview to review description, eligibility and requirements, shifts or registration window, helpful skills, Assign volunteers controls, and Log hours controls before opening the Mission record from Missions.
  18. When logging hours, select multiple approved program volunteers, confirm the service date and hours, and save the entries so Event and Mission time contributes to overall Volunteer hours.
  19. Confirm the calendar reflects the latest Event RSVP or Mission staffing status before leaving the page.
