Edit Mission Page

What This Page Does​

Updates Mission details, schedule, volunteer operations settings, requirements, map points, GoodNearby visibility, image-capable description content, optional logistics templates, Galaxy AI shift drafting, and ICS planning fields when the Mission requires ICS / Incident Command.

How To Use This Page​

  1. Open Edit Mission.
  2. Apply a Mission template at the top of the page before reviewing fields that the template can change; use the coverage signal to choose templates that fill most setup fields.
  3. Use Edit templates next to the template picker when saved templates need to be created, updated, copied from starters, or removed in the Program Template Builder.
  4. Complete Mission Setup next: program, Mission type, title, Location Address, first shift or open-ended beginning/end window, and description.
  5. Use GoodNearby visibility only when public publishing needs review; the public description uses the Mission description and the public City, Region, and Postal Code come from Location Address unless you enable the matching overrides.
  6. Review the advanced sections next only when needed: volunteer setup, operations, GoodNearby visibility, map, logistics, requirements, and advanced shifts. Volunteer Requirements shows template, Program model, and Mission-type suggestions when matching qualifications or waivers are available.
  7. For Galaxy-plan organizations, use Galaxy AI shift draft to describe additional shift dates, time ranges, and capacity naturally, then review and add the drafted shift rows before saving.
  8. Use the GoodNearby visibility section to update public site visibility, marketplace discovery, search indexing, sharing, public title, public description overrides, public location overrides, and public signup mode from the same Mission edit page.
  9. Use the description editor for text, links, and embedded image URLs that only qualified Volunteers in the Program should see.
  10. Use general settings and Logistics for routine programs such as pet shelter volunteer shifts.
  11. Enable Requires ICS / Incident Command only when the selected Program is a Disaster Response / Emergency Management Program and the Mission needs ICS forms, COMU tools, command structure, and incident-action planning fields.
  12. When editing a published Mission, preview the impact before applying changes that affect registrations, requirements, capacity, contacts, or shift timing.
